We are seeking sevites to fill the position of Public Relations Chairperson and Public Relations Committee Members. Please see the information below describing the positions and the committee. Public Relations Chairperson
- 2 year commitment
- Participate in monthly Board Meetings
- Attend in-person annual meeting (September 2 - 4, 2010)
- Responsible for covering own phone and travel expenses for meetings
- As with all Board Members, Public Relations Chairperson is asked to demonstrate their leadership through a minimum yearly dakshina contribution of $500
- Chair Public Relations Committee meetings
- Monthly time commitment 10-15 hours — time commitment can vary depending on project or time of year
Public Relations Committee Members
- 2 year commitment
- Participate in Public Relations Committee conference calls
- Support Public Relations Chairperson with strategic policy and planning of public relations
- Monthly time commitment 5 hours—time commitment can vary depending on project or time of year
- Committee members are responsible for covering their own phone expenses
- All Committee Members are requested to demonstrate their leadership through a minimum yearly dakshina contribution of $500
Public Relations Committee
Purpose
- Responsible for the overall direction and control of the public relations activities of the organization including continual expansion of the outreach to current and potential new stakeholders.
Membership
- The Chairperson of this committee is appointed by the Board Chair. Committee members are selected by the committee chair, approved and invited to participate by the Board Chair. Membership on this committee includes people who have a respected profile in the various communities where MYF desires a presence.
Board Focus Activities
- Provide input and review and approve the public relations plan for the organization.
- Educate and advise other board members, administration and volunteers on matters of public relations.
- Define clear policies, parameters, and voice around the MYF message to provide the necessary clarity and consistency to staff and all others involved in public relations activities.
- Review and approve branding material that creates and supports the image of the organization.
Operational Focus Activities
- Assist the administration in all public relations activities where this additional support is requested or required.
- Assist as appropriate in providing training of board members, administration and volunteers in public relations.
