We are seeking sevites to fill the position of Resources Development Chairperson and Resources Development Committee Members. Resources Development Chairperson
- 2 year commitment
- Participate in monthly Board Meetings
- Attend in-person annual meeting. (September 2 - 4, 2010)
- Resources Development Chairperson is responsible for covering own phone and travel expenses for meetings.
- Chair Resources Development Committee meetings
- Monthly time commitment 10-15 hours—time commitment can vary depending on project or time of year.
- Resources Development Chairperson, as with all Board Members, are asked to demonstrate their leadership through a minimum yearly dakshina contribution of $500
Resources Development Committee Members
- 2 year commitment
- Participate in Resources Development Committee conference calls
- Support Resources Development Chairperson with strategic policy and planning of resources development
- Monthly time commitment 5 hours—time commitment can vary depending on project or time of year
- Committee members are responsible for covering their own phone expenses
- All Committee Members are requested to demonstrate their leadership through a minimum yearly dakshina contribution of $500
Resources Development Committee
Purpose
- Responsible for the overall direction and control of financial resource development and other resource development activities. This includes traditional fund raising, developing opportunities for beneficial relationships that can include support in the form of other resources and the recruitment, development and effective use of volunteers providing seva to MYF.
Membership
- The Chairperson of this committee is appointed by the Board Chair. Committee members are selected by the committee chair, approved and invited to participate by the Board Chair. If a paid position, the Seva coordinator would be a member of this committee as well as the Executive Director.
- Membership qualifications for this committee include people with strong fundraising skills, potential significant donors, people with access to potentially significant donors and people with capabilities to develop and support a strong volunteer program.
Board Focus Activities
- Create annual fund raising strategy and fund raising initiatives that support organization activities at an appropriate level.
- Leads by example through personal financial support and advocacy within the broader community in support of fund raising initiatives.
- Works with other board members to garner their commitment of financial support and to utilize their respective networks for fund raising.
- Ensures other board members, administration and volunteers receive necessary training and mentoring to assist their contribution to financial development.
- Develop policies around a Seva program.
Operational Focus Activities
- Assist the Seva Coordinator in the recruitment, organizing and development of volunteers.
- Assist as appropriate in providing training of board members, administration and volunteers in fund raising and volunteer development.
- Provide support to the Executive Director in arranging fund raising introductions and fund raising meetings with potential donors.
